This is where we are documenting our journey to becoming more self sufficient and self reliable. We’re tracking our wins and our losses and hoping to maybe inspire a few people along the way.
Homestead areas
Garden
We grow much of our own produce. We have at least 2 garden plots 25′ x 50′ that we try to keep going spring through fall.
Chickens
We have an ever growing flock of chickens. We started with chickens for a source of eggs and have expanded into raising chickens as a source of meat.
Rabbits
We have a section of the barn dedicated to raising rabbits, primarily for meat purposes.
Fruit and fruit trees
We have berry bushes as well as a few different fruit trees.
